Tranexamic acid, also known as tranexamic acid, clotting acid and hemostatic acid, has a molecular formula of c8h15no2 and a chemical name of trans-4-aminomethylcyclohexane . It is a white crystalline powder with no odor and slight taste,. It is soluble in water, but almost insoluble in ethanol, ether.
Tranexamic acid is a synthetic derivative of the amino acid lysine. It is used to treat or prevent excessive blood loss duringsurgery and in various other medical conditions.
